Discover the surroundings of the campsite

The campsite Le Bois Henri IV welcomes you every year from April 1 to September 30. Located in the heart of l’Île de Ré, you will have access to many places of interest and many activities to do.

The cycle paths of the Île de Ré..

Ile de Ré is known for its numerous cycle paths. Just at the back of the campsite, there’s access to its trails which will allow you to take beautiful bike rides.

..and its magnificent landscapes

Take advantage of these bike rides to discover a little more l’Île de Ré and observe magnificent landscapes. It’s also an opportunity to visit all the small villages in the surrounding area which make up the charm of the Island.

Wood of Henri IV

The Bois Henri IV is a large holm oak wood, ideal for beautiful family walks. The woods offer the campsite a natural and rural setting for calm and family holidays. It also provides quick access to a beautiful fine sand beach.

Fine sand beach

Just 200 m away from the campsite, you can find a beautiful sandy beach for swimming and enjoying the good weather. The beach is easily accessible via the Bois Henri IV forest. For all water lovers, many water activities are available to have a good time on the Île de Ré.

The village of La Couarde-sur-Mer

La Couarde-sur-Mer is a very beautiful village on the Île de Ré and is located 2 km away from the campsite. Easily accessible by bike via cycle paths, the village is a must to visit during your stay. You can discover its labyrinths of flowered alleys, its village center, its bandstand at the foot of the church, its local market as well as its shops and restaurants.

The salt marshes

Discover the salt marshes located around and around our campsite, there are many small marshes to discover. You will have the opportunity to be in direct contact with the salt workers to learn more about the marshes and buy sea salt directly on site.

Some salt workers even offer tours of the salt marshes. Ask for more informations at the campsite reception to find out more about the salt workers who offer this type of service.

Oyster tasting on the Île de Ré

From the campsite, you can easily go to oyster farming sites and meet the oyster farmers. This will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy the pure sea air while tasting fresh and tasty oysters directly on site.

Wine from Île de Ré

Île de Ré is renowned for its great know-how in wine production. So take advantage of your stay to discover the beautiful vineyards around the campsite. You can meet local winegrowers to chat with them and taste Relais specialties such as Pineau and rosé from Île de Ré. The Coopérative des Vignerons, easily recognizable by its large white tower, is an ideal place to discover the wines of the Island where visits to the cellars, tasting and purchasing are offered on site.
